Garett Steers, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Foregut and Bariatric Surgeon at the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute in Rapid City. Dr. Steers completed a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville focusing on complex foregut and bariatric surgery as well as liver and pancreatic surgery, and was a Research Fellow and General Surgery Resident at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor of Medicine from University of South Dakota s Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion and with like honors as an undergrad at South Dakota State University in Brookings, where he acquired a Bachelor of Science in Biology & Microbiology.
